→ | Smith and Wesson sw9ve or glock 26??? |
| | By Yahoo Answers | | 2007-06-25 15:06:03 | | Any suggestions I am figuring out between a glock (9mm any model preferably compact) or the smithe and wesson sw9ve. Which one is better, personal experience and any other polymer gun suggestions in the same price range (500-600$). Sigs and H&K are nice but to much money unless you know of one I haven't seen. | | Answered By: Locked and Loaded | |
| | I own SW40VE and I've owned 9mm and 40 cal glocks. I prefer 40 over 9. But to answer your question, over all the glock is probably a better weapon (clips for glocks you can get for $15). For the price range however, the Sigma would be a good choice depending on your budget. Sigma's are around $150.00 - $200.00 less than Glocks. The Sigma is a good firearm for the price and couldn't be happier with mine.
Smith & Wesson also have good promotions. Purchase a Sigma or a M&P between June 1st 2007 - July 31st 2007 and get 2 free 10 or 14 or 16 (depending on caliber) magazines!!!!
Also another promotion for free Range Bag!!!!!
You can't argue with a brand new S&W w/2 clips for $300.00 (after tax) along w/2 more free clips and a range bag and a Lifetime warranty.
Or you can pay $450-$500 Glock w/2 clips only and limited warranty.
Good luck with your pick. |
| User: MousieZ | | I like Glock, much easier to handle.
If you have a gun shop near you with a shooting gallery where you can try them out, do, because they are really different in response and kickback. | | | | User: cptndaveahoe | | I own the sw9ve and it's a good gun, but the glock is definitely better. The 26 is also much smaller than the smith | | | | User: Throwin Lead | | If you are looking for a realy nice compact weapon take a good look at the Smith & Wesson M&P9C. Should be in the same $$$ ballpark as the other weapons you are lookin at.
It is a very nice piece, comes with 3 interchangeable backstraps(Sm, Med, & Lrg) to help fit your grip. If you are looking for concealed carry this fits the bill nicely.
I would choose the M&P40c (40SW caliber) over the 9mm but that is my personal choice.
I shoot the M&P40 full size in USPSA competition. I'm averaging about 1000 rounds a month between shooting in club matches and practice. No problems with the weapon at all - the gun runs smooth.

Do a little due dilligence before you spend your money on any weapon. | | | | User: H | | Personal experience: I've owned two Glock Model 20s in .10mm, one Glock Model 31 in .357 Sig, and one Glock Model 26 in .9mm. All my Glocks have performed flawlessly. I OWNED (past tense) a first generation Smith & Wesson Sigma .9mm and it was JUNK. After returning it twice to S & W and they failed to correct the problem I simply... Got Rid Of It.
H | | | | User: steven c | | I have a Smith & Wesson Sigma series 9mm and love it | | | | User: Chris S | | The ergonomics on the S&W are definitely better than on the Glock. It has a better grip angle, a more form fitted grip, and a better slide release lever. The two S&W SW40GVE's that I have have been 100% reliable with about 3000 rounds through each. There have been no failures of any kind with all of the various brands and types of ammunition I have run through them. That said, the Glock is an outstanding weapon. My model 23 has been an excellent gun, but it is a bit more picky about which ammunition it will feed, the front sight fell off a few weeks ago and I had to get a new one, and the lack of a fully supported chamber is less than appealing in the .40S&W caliber.
IMO, the Smith & Wesson Sigma's are, by far, the best value in a polymer frame gun on the market.
I forgot to mention, you also get a lifetime warranty on the S&W which you don't get with the Glock. | | | | User: KB | | go with the G26. | | | | User: Locked and Loaded | | I own SW40VE and I've owned 9mm and 40 cal glocks.
