→ | Glock 23 owners? |
| | By Yahoo Answers | | 2007-12-17 04:21:42 | | I was talked out of the S&W MP.40 purchase, so what are the the opinions of Glock 23 owners? I will be renting one at the range to test fire this week, just wanted some opinions. | | Answered By: gretsch16pc | |
| | I am a Lifetime Member of GSSF (Glock Sport Shooting Foundation) and own 3 Glocks, 2-G35s and a G23. My Christmas list included a New G27 (Subcompact), and FYI all of the above are .40s I own alot of handguns and the Glocks at on the top of favorites right out of the box. They are my pick for work and the choice of many around the World. |

A couple of years ago in Charlotte, NC, to cops were killed while struggling with a suspect. The suspect got hold of one of the officers' pistol and just started pulling the trigger. Both officers killed. It was a Glock 40 cal. If it had a better type of safety, perhaps it would have bought them enough time to nail him. I also think they are a bit pricey. Don't be afraid to look at some of the S&Ws. Just my opinion. | | | | User: Charles S | | Get the full size and not the compact. It is just too small for most hands to hold comfortably. Also you might want to look into getting the "compensated" model. That has small holes in the top of the barrel and slide to help compensate for the recoil, and keep you on target. I wouldn't worry about night sights too much, they are only really good for a few years anyway, and what are you going to be shooting at in the dark? If its an intruder in your house, you would probably miss anyway because of the adrenaline. | | | | User: pathfinder | | I own the full size glock model 22. It is not any less concealable than the model 23, and it has better control because it is longer vat the grip and in the slide. You can get the model 23 in the standard version with fixed sights, adj. sights, and you can also set the "ported barrel and slide" model known as the 23C [compensated]. I don't like the compensated models becasue of the muzzle flash coming out of the ports. It is distracting. It also adds about $50 to the price. | | | | User: john r | | All I can say is try it and see what you think. I did not like Glocks for years, being a fan of more traditional handguns like the Colt 1911, or S&W revolvers. I didn't like Glocks and would never have bought one. I did, however end up with one (G21) in a trade. It wasn't long before I really began to like it, and so I bought another, a G30. The reason I like these guns is that they're perfect for their roles. Absolutley reliable, reasonably accurate, and the lack of a manual safety I feel, is an asset. One less thing to get caught on clothing or a holster, and to remember to have to switch off. Also, I am 6'4" and weigh 200 lbs; the 30 is not too small for me. | | | | User: soulsource7 | | I've owned many Glocks over the years and I love them. There is a reason that they are so popular. You made a good choice not buying the S&W. Unless you want to spend the money for a good 1911 or a H&K, the Glock is buy far your best bet. | | | | User: horke | | 23 is a great gun, my favorite of all the glocks ive shot. perfect size and caliber. | | | | User: gretsch16pc | | I am a Lifetime Member of GSSF (Glock Sport Shooting Foundation) and own 3 Glocks, 2-G35s and a G23. But I just got a Springfield xd compact. Feels better, shoots better and conceals better. Take a look at one, also they are less expensive than the Glock. | | | | User: corey h | | The 23 is my favorite of the Glock pistols. Not as big as a full size, but still big enough to be comfortable in the hand (I don't like Glock subcompact pistols because the grip is too short IMO). Have shot the S&W M&P pistols several times and like them as well. Trigger mechanism is the same as a Glock and the grip is very comfortable. Either the Glock or the S&W will serve you well. | | | | User: silverbullet217 | | I have a glock 19 9mm, I love it, you hit what you aim at at 80'(that's the lenght of my local indoor gun range) now at 81' I might miss a barn | | | | User: EMT-B | | google "glock kb"
i will stick with my 1911 | | |
