| | The glock 23 is an extremely reliable gun to carry. The .40 cal. packs a punch and with the right ammo is a great self-defense/carry gun.
However, I have found that the size of the glock 23 makes it somewhat difficult to conceal. With the right clothing I can conceal mine, but like I said it is not always the easiest thing to conceal. Probably not something I would want to carry around everyday.
As far as the glock 19, I would not carry that. The 9mm cartridge is not very powerful and not the best self-defense ammo. Also, I have never seen the 33 round clip in a model 19, but I believe they "stick-out" of the bottom of the gun. If this is the case, it would make it even more difficult to conceal than the glock 23. |

I'm not a big gun person so don't take my word for it. | | | | User: pathfinder | | Yes, the Glock 23 compact in .40 S&W is a good carry gun. My preference is the full sized model 22. In my opinion, it is not that much bigger than the model 23, and you have 2 additional rounds in the magazine. I don't like the 9mm. It has the velocity, but not enough wallop energy delivered to the target. The .40 S&W round comes close to the wallop of the .45 ACP. | | | | User: 7 | | In my opinion, you want something that will put a stop to trouble in the very first round.... such as a .357 Mag. You also want something that will still fire when its dirty and that would be a revolver and you want something small enough to be "conceal/carry"... such as a Ruger SP101 with a 1 7/8" barrel. A speed loader is nearly as fast as a clip also. There are certainly a lot of views on this but this is at least one viable approach. | | | | User: A A | | glock 23 is a good choice, no high cap mags, what do you need 33 rnds for | | | | User: SteelCityFan13 | | The glock 23 is an extremely reliable gun to carry. Personally, I liked the 27 cause the grip wasnt too long and I could easily and discreetly throw it in my coat pocket without too much trouble. Much easier to conceal than the Ruger p-85 I traded for it. Now I have sold the glock also because of some personal reasons, but I thought it was a good gun. I am extremely impressed with Glocks. Some people dont like them, mainly because they are so "common." But they are popular/common for a reason. You can break them down and put them back together again in hardly no time. Very easy to clean, and hard to damage. I threw mine in my glove compartment all the time (not recommended) and never worried about scratches or wear. I put about 100 rounds through it, still looked like new. Great gun for the money, should last forever if you take care of it. | | | | User: PurpleNurple | | no 33 round mag would be good for concealed carrying...where were you planning on concealing it? buy a colt .45, they are small and pack a punch. | | | | User: John | | Stick to the .40S&W. You might even consider the Glock 22. Only slightly bigger, and two extra rounds in the magazine. | | | | User: ♫Mr. Kite♫ | | 33 if it's size your looking for (looks small enough, lol).
