  • →How much would I get for a Glock 26 handgun?
    2007-11-01 14:12:58
I have a Glock 26 . I have shot it 20 times at a shooting range and the rest of the time its been in its case. I want to sell it to a gun store and was wondering how much I would get for it and if its worth it. Its in great condition
    Answered By: sargeArmy
If you take it to a gun store you will get about half of what you paid for it. If you take it to a pawn shop you will get about 1/10th of what you paid for it. If you advertise it on the Internet you might get about 3/4th of what you paid for it. If you try to sell it in the newspaper you will get people coming to your house that will try to rob you of it and all the things you have in your house.
  • →9mm vs. 10mm?
    2007-06-20 09:54:01
I am torn between getting a Stoeger Cougar 8000 in 9mm and buying a Glock 20 in 10mm. The gun will mostly serve as home defense and a "just for fun" gun. The 9mm is a very cheap round and the cougar is an inexpensive pistol, whereas the the Glock costs a little bit more and the ammo is fairly expensive. I am open to reloading to fray the cost of the 10mm. On that same note does anyone know how it costs per cartridge to reload 10mm. Ive had good reviews on both pistols, but I still cant decide. I don't want a .40, .45, .38, .357, or anything else, so please don't recommend these calibers. I am also considering doing some practical shooting so a 9mm would put me in minor and a 10mm would put me in major

John, the .9mm is a standard defensive caliber. The .10mm is a magnum class defensive/hunting round. For home/personal defense the .9mm is a good choice. Practice ammo is cheap for the .9mm, harder to find and more expensive for the .10mm (but it won't put you in the poor house). I like the .10mm as a service weapon. I've carried a Glock Model 20 .10mm for 12+ years on the streets. At a 100 yards it is as powerful as a .45 acp at the muzzle. The .10mm is far superior at penetrating barriers (car glass and sheet metal) than the .45 acp. This may not be a good thing in a home defense scenario where a loved one could be sleeping in the next room. So if you chose the ten for home defense consider buying pre-fragmented slugs for home defense use. Now if you are in the great outdoors where four legged predators may be a problem you're definitely better off with the ten. The .10mm got a bad rap from: 1. Wimpy people who whined and cried about the recoil (like when the .357 Magnum first came out); 2. Gun makers taking shortcuts by converting .45s to .10mm rather than doing like Gaston Glock who built a brand-new frame for the big .10mm. The Glock Model 20 .10mm is a superior pistol, but only you can decide what works better for you. Best. H
  • →Rebuilt Glocks?

I keep hearing people mention factory rebuilt Glocks, does anyone know where I could find one and what the prices are? I would prefer a Glock 20 (10mm auto)
    Answered By: pathfinder
I have seen these things in gun shops. The price difference between the rebuilt and brand new gun is so negligible, something like $50- $75, I would opt to buy a new gun.It just isn't worth the hassle, in case some goes wrong in the rebuilt gun. The case of a brand new Glock out of the box not functional is almost non existent.
  • →Glock Frames?

I am doing a college research paper paper on the evolution of polymer, specifically polymer handguns and want to find a source or some opinions of polymer frame life span. Also I am not really talking round count just life span in general such as break down and brittleness. I know that 20 or so years is all we have to go on but they have to be some real world facts or even personal opinions on the longevity of polymer frames.

I personally prefer traditional single-action pistols in steel, namely the Browning Hi-Power, but have shot the Glock, HK. and XD a lot the past few years. To me, the 'revolution' that the Glock 17 prompted is not suspect due to the plastic, it's the bogus "safety" system, or lack thereof, depending on your perspective. No safety and a trigger that pulls like a Bostich staple gun seems to be the norm today and that's just really too bad. I listed some links that you can maybe harvest some stuff from on the topic for your research. Good Luck!
  • →Anyone willing to sell a walther P99, or glock in NH, maybe VT?
    2006-12-18 16:47:52
I just got my concealed carry permit and am looking for a nice 9mm. I'm only 20, so I can't get the gun from a dealer. I don't know what VT law is on private hand gun sales...

How did you manage to get a CWP at 20?
  • →Can I buy a gun on eBay?

A nice AK-47 , or a Glock with a 20 round clip, you know, for hunting?
    Answered By: Matt M
No ebay doesn't allow guns on their page. They have a tendancy to sometimes pull auctions for just barrels and parts. Plus, anyone serious about hunting would know most Glocks don't fit the bill. Then most areas don't allow high capacity magazines while hunting either. If you are serious, you need other guns, if not get a little more mature.
