  • →which is better, a glock 23 or a taurus 9 mm?
    2007-02-11 13:57:46
i have a glock 23 and my buddy has a taurus 9mm and i say mine is better and he says his is better. who is right? wildraft - what was the point of that huh? come on. i asked a serious question and expected a serious answer. why did you even waste your time? p.s. i do not have a taurus i have a glock 23 .40 cal

The Glock is by far a much better handgun over all, first of all just ask you friend this one simple question, "What handgun is carried by more Agencies around the World... NON other...GLOCK!" Taurus may have a lifetime warranty but that is it and the little 9mm don't have the knock-down power the 40cals got. The 40S&W is in the same class as the old 357 mag with 3x the round capacity. I am a Lifetime member of GSSF and own 2-G35s (1 L/E & 1 Civilian model) and 1-G23. Next purchase will be a G22. (77)
  • →When I was cleaning my glock 23 (.40 cal)....?
    2007-06-03 19:58:26
When I was cleaning my glock 23 (.40 cal) I shook it a little and hear a rattling noise, when I cocked it and shook it there was no rattling noise. should there be any rattling at all ? it has progressively gotten worse and now its a big rattle(after other shooting and cleaning)....is this normal? Can I make it not rattle? I think its the firing pin, but I dont know ....any help? Thanks I was just fooling around with it more and I took the slide off. I pressed the botton underneath it and shook it and the I guess firing pin or catch was shaking. can I stop this? THANKS! It rattles anytime its not cocked

I have had four separate GLOCKs over the years and they ALL did the same thing. The best I can figure is that the firing pin is loose when the gun is un-cocked. I noticed that the rattling goes away when the gun is ready to be fired. It's probably not a good idea to shake the gun with one in the chamber, though. This is no reason to be concerned.
  • →Does the grip on all years of the Glock 23, have a "cut out" on the front of the grip??
    2007-02-21 09:16:36
My Glock 23 does not seem to match pics of others I have looked at. On the front of the grip, located underneath the trigger at the height of the pinky finger, is some sort of factory "cut out" shaped in an almost half moon... Looking at the Glock website the Glock 32 is the only other model shown to have that. Problem is my gun is a .40 sw and the model 32 is .357......could my action and grip/trigger mech have been exchanged, or will the gun malfunction.

The 3rd generatiom model 23 (.40 caliber) will take a .357 sig barrel (Model 32) and shoot just fine. This isn't recommended for early generation models. It sounds like you have an early generation model or that you bought a used gun which someone reassembled with various parts. Call or email Glock.
  • →Tempe, Mesa, or Scottsdale Gun deals on a Glock 23?
    2008-03-24 10:44:33
Who has the best deals on Glock 23's in the Scottsdale, Tempe, or Mesa Area?
    Answered By: gretsch16pc
Call the Gun dealers within your driving distance and or hit the Gun Shows, many dealers under one roof so the price will very a great deal. As a heads up, if you become a member of GSSF they offer a membership special and that is how I got my 3rd Glock. My Glock G23 was less than $400 new with 2-13 rd. mags.
  • →would a glock 23 be a good gun for concealed carry?
    2008-03-11 12:27:47
would a glock 19 with a 33 round mag be better? i dont understand what hot blue snow is saying why am i AN idiot? hey white folks, there is a difference between fear and being preparred
    Answered By: SteelCityFan13
The glock 23 is an extremely reliable gun to carry. The .40 cal. packs a punch and with the right ammo is a great self-defense/carry gun. However, I have found that the size of the glock 23 makes it somewhat difficult to conceal. With the right clothing I can conceal mine, but like I said it is not always the easiest thing to conceal. Probably not something I would want to carry around everyday. As far as the glock 19, I would not carry that. The 9mm cartridge is not very powerful and not the best self-defense ammo. Also, I have never seen the 33 round clip in a model 19, but I believe they "stick-out" of the bottom of the gun. If this is the case, it would make it even more difficult to conceal than the glock 23.
  • →I cought between choices of a glock 23 .40 or a S&W M&P40 comp...???
    2007-10-27 16:03:30
i like how the glock are the most dependable weapons around however the s&w feels and looks good as well is concealable..
    Answered By: mkonops
In this case I would recommend the Glock. It is an all around better weapon than the Smith. However, the important thing is how it feels and shoots in your hands. If the Smith is more comfortable for you, than its the better choice. The M&P is certainly no junker, with proper care it will last a long time. I would also suggest looking into the XD40, it is more comfortable than the Glock in my opinion, and is just as reliable.
