  • →Glock 27 question......................?
    2008-01-28 03:12:05
Will I be able to put a laser/light on the glock 27? What is their length and height?
    Answered By: John R
This depends on how old the G-27 is, older ones don't have a rail under the frame, if there is one, you can mount a light/laser on it. OR you can get those recoil spring guide lazer or a CTC laser that get glued to the side of the grip but they are pricy. For a torch, you can alsways get a magazine floor flate light mount. Remember, a laser doesn't make your gun more accurate (it only make it easier to shoot accuractely for SOME people) and many seasoned shooters don't like them. It is not easy to find the dot in a hurry neither. AND some lazers make the gun too bulky for daily carry.
  • →I just bought a Glock 27 40sw ! what is the best and deadlyist ammo made in 40sw the Glock can handle ??

I have heard the extreme shock ammo is good but i want to know what shoots the best and does the most damage to a person! I have a cwp and FFl so im perfectly leagle to carry my gun any time!

Glock makes fine pistols, but I don't like the Glock 27, because the grip is too small; my little finger is "in the air" on that grip. That makes the muzzle harder to control, especially with a moderately heavy round like the .40. Let me recommend you rearrange your thinking just a little if you intend to use the weapon for self-defense. You don't want the "deadliest" ammo. What you want is to end the threat as quickly as possible. That is best accomplished by imparting as much energy as possible to the target. According to Guns & Ammo, the .40 achieves maximum energy in the 155 grain JHP. Of course, you also need to be able to control the pistol, so you may be more comfortable with some other load. Remember, any round that hits its target is more effective than one that doesn't.
  • →Is the Glock 27 the current most popular handgun, or Taurus 40.cal?
    2006-11-09 03:37:34
I'm thinking about buying something new...any input about either of these, or something else? I'd want to stay in the 40 cal range...but what brand has the most reliability and ease of use...home defence. budget is around 500 at the moment. Thanks Jon, good advice. This afternoon i went and shot a few different glocks(17,17c,23) good stuff, but i liked the ruger p345 the most. thanks all- gonna add the ruger to my meager collection.

Find a range that rents .... always try before you buy ...Glocks are preferred by law enforcement because of the integrated trigger and grip safety ... in short there isn't really a safety if you grip the gun with your finger on the trigger ....because of this there have been alot of accidental shootings .... Why do you want the weapon.....do you have a need to draw and fire quickly (like a cop on a traffic stop) then yes the Glock .... There were shooting incidents where law enforcement forgot to take the safety off ... that's why the Glock is so popular ..there is not lever or button to press the fire ..just grip & go.... I have the seperate safety ... I hate the accidental discharge potential of a weapon I carry on my person..... I prefer to think before I fire. But to each his own...... You do test drive a car before your buy onw right ..... when you invest the money in something for self defence you should know how it works and handles before you take it home! Happy Huntin'

If so, is the holster ideal for concealment?

I would check some of the handgun discussion forums. For Glocks, definetly go here: (the site is HUGE) http://glocktalk.com Also, you may want to ask at this site as well: http://www.handgunforum.net/ I've read some mixed stuff on the Blackhawk holsters...
  • →Any suggestions for a good concealable holster for a Glock model 22 or 27?
    2006-09-16 15:00:20
I'm a small-framed female officer working in a plain-clothes capacity and need a way of concealing either a Glock model 22 or 27, without having to rely on wearing large, bulky layers of clothing that screams, "I'm a cop..." It's gotta be easily accesible, but still have some level of retention safety...any suggestions???
    Answered By: dh1977
Here are a couple of ideas. I would advise against the "purse holsters", especially if this is for on-duty plain clothes work. They will give you major accessibility problems. As for shooting through the purse, I'm sure you know how impractical that is in a law enforcement situation. In my experience, the small of the back and ankle holsters both work very well. You could look into a thigh holster if you will be wearing skirts, but you may have retention issues. I want a Kimber Tactical Ultra II, but thats gonna be expensive. Like a thousand bucks! But a Glock 27 is powerful, accurate, small, and its around 400 bucks. Its not nearly as nice though. I just got my CCDW license and I need something easily hidden but I dont know wether to pay the extra dollars for a nice Kimber or just settle for a Glock 27
