Review Summary: Glock-29

GLOCK 29 10mm Semi-Auto
Reviewed By Det: J. Krustofichech III on Jun 15 2003
Manufacturer: Glock
The good qualities: Chemistry: Light Weight Polymer Frame, Metallurgy: Aircraft Grade Aluminum Alloy 8003 x.05 and Overall Simplicity of design. Safety: Glock has made continued improvements and has strong commitment to for safety innovations. Average/Fair Product Value via Cost and Classification.
The bad qualities: Piss poor reliability, stove-pipes, failures to feed and eject; jams with both High End Tactical Ammunition and mediocre Practice Ammo (Only NATO Spec Ammo Used in Test) Bluing demonstrated severe fading even when properly lubricated with a NATO Specified Glock recommended PTFE (Teflon) Synthetic Solution with excellent thermal viscosity breakdown resistance and good film strength.
In a NutShell: Personally: I would not use it for my duty weapon and I would not recommend this modal to a loved one for home protection. Despite a love for the 10mm and the Glocks awesome cosmetics the Heckler & Koch OUTPERFORMED in every area EXCEPT price. The H&K 45 USP Stainless was aprox $300 more.
Recommended: yes

Review Detail:

The same unit was sampled with a Heckler & Koch 45 USP (Noting the differences in Cal.) This unit Failed to malfunction even after Stress-tested past 10,000 Rounds. Conclusion: Glock was not helpful is offering a solution. Even without all the data Glock officials quickly handed off responsibility for malfunctions on ammo.
