During over 30 years in law enforcement I have carried a variety of sidearms. I have found the Glock 23 to be the best to date. In a Fobus holster the compact size makes it very comfortable to carry on or off duty. So much so that my model 27 has not been out of the box in quite some time.

I want to say that this gun is the best self defense weapon period. I have carried one for some time now and I have no complaints. get one and see for yourself. Glock 22 comes in a close second.

Replaced my S&W 4013 with the Glock 23 LE version. Used as back up, secondary. Best damn gun I ever owned. Exceeds my issued 5906. What else can I say !?

b5trooper, Nice gift. You should also know that you could purchase from Glock a Glock 32 barrel in .357SIG that can just drop into your Glock 23. It will work fine with the .40S&W magazines and enable you to shoot your issued ammo. giving you two guns in one. From a fellow Virginian. Stay safe and Glock on.

I received a Glock 23 as a graduation presenet from my dad-i will join the Virginia State Police in the fall of 2005 and I must say the the Glock is one of the most reliable and dependable handguns I have ever used. A gun that I would trust with my life.

Bought a glock 23 last week. My first glock. I shot a 100 rounds out of it at the range. Love it! The weight and the feel of it is great. The right size to conceal.

I shoot 1911's in IPSC matches all year. However, for a defense/carry weapon the G-23 can not be beat, I currently own 4 G-23's. I have owned and fired pretty much every handgun made to date, none can out perform the G-23, not even the other Glocks on the market. Don't waste your money on modifications. Keep your G-23 all Glock, the only thing that I would recommend is a Glock manufactured 3.5lb connector if you are an avid shooter and have learned proper trigger habits.....DVC
