This gun was ready to rock right out of the box. There were no "necessary" upgrades to make it accurate, as it is super accurate as it comes. The Glock "Safe Action" design virtually eliminates the need for an external safety. You can beat it with a hammer, run over it with a truck, or even drop it off the roof of a building and it will not go off. The stock 5.5 pound trigger pull, combined with the "Trigger Bar" safety almost eliminates accidental discharges. I have read of people put 120,000 rounds through a Glock 17 without a single problem.

Please excuse my for my bad english writing.
As a Norvegian officer for 3 years and a total of 4 year of service. 2 of these years in UN service in Libanon and Kosovo with the Glock 17 or P80 as its called in the norveigian army by my side I can recomend it.
I have fired it in - 40 degrees celsius and + 45 degrees, without mallfunction.
I have scubadived in icecold water and fired it as we broke the cerfase of the water. (drill not "live" mission)
I should state that I have never shot a human with it, but I've put and end to a raindeer with one shot to the head.
I am now out of the army, and have bought myself a Glock 19, aswell as a few other arms.

After FINALLY coming to their senses LESS!! than 50% of ALL Police Departmnts now own Glocks. They are THE MOST DANGEROUS gun on this planet. Ask any of the 48+ officers in the Washington D.C area who either shot an innocent person or shot themselves. It only took me 3 Glocks to find this out. Don't Believe Me??????????? make a 10 minute trip to my web page and look at the pictures. "Tactical Tupperware" is going away...FINALLY!! Sorry to all the Glock Fans!!
Give me a 1911-A1 I can pick up with a magnet ANYDAY OF THE WEEK.

I HAVE PERSONALLY FIRED OVER 60 THOUSAND + ROUNDS THROUGH MY MODEL 17. I ALSO HAVE A 17C AND A 26. I'VE BEEN INVOLVED IN FIREARMS PROFESSIONALLY FOR 13 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN AN AVID FIREARM LOVER ALL MY LIFE. I'VE SOLD THOUSANDS OF GUNS. THE MAJORITY OF THEM BEING GLOCKS. THE GLOCK FIREARM IN MY OPINION IS THE LOWEST MAINTENANCE, MOST RELIABLE, ACCURITE FIREARM OUT OF THE BOX ON THE PLANET. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WEAPON THAT IS GOING TO WORK EVERY TIME YOU PULL THE TRIGGER, HIT WHERE YOU ARE PRECISELY AIMING, AND BE ONE HELL OF A WORKHORSE FOR GOD KNOWS HOW MANY YEARS WITHOUT FAIL OR REPAIR, CHOOSE A GLOCK,...PERIOD!! SIMPLICITY IS GOLD, SIG'S AND HK'S ARE TERRIFIC FIREARMS, HOWEVER, NOT EVERYONE NEEDS A DECOCKING LEVER, OR DOUBLE SINGLE ACTION MODES.
