-Apr 10 2002 "truerick", Most Glocks that are being imported are built-in locks. The cavity behind the grip is now precise in the mold operation. before there was no quality control over them. So, the previous Glocks have specific modeled locks, Check out Glock annual magazine. In the rear for products."Abs", you nuts? I If you have a death wish or your a Gang Banger keep on. But if your a little more civilised than suit up with some holsters for a spall investment(stage 3)emptied chamber, but a full mag."Question23C",personally I think the "C" model is a flop, but if it works for you than go for it.To answer your Q: yes the barrel is cut short of compression. Think of it for example if you had a 2" barrel the cpmpression would be reduced dramaticly. I wouldn't worry about stopping power as much as cycling. The "C" models are Known for feeding problems. If you have these problems than all you have to Details..

-4/8/2002 I have owned my G23 for about a year now and it is the best damn gun ever made! Better than HK because the lack of a hammer allows a longer barrel...check the specs yourself. Have fired over 2500 rounds with no jam. Great job Gaston! Details..

-4/1/2002 I am 48 yrs old and have 2 very weak arms due to the good old "VA" not catching my Diabetes as soon as they should. I was an AVID shooter all my life, .45, .357 (the big stuff) and was told by more than one gun dealer and Police Officer to get a Glock 23C due to the reduced recoil. I did, I am able to shoot more often, but am wondering if the "Compensation" reduces power to the point of making the gun a 50/50 on stopping power. I could really use some info as this gun seems to work well for me and accuracy is great. Would appreciate comments either way. Thanks Details..

-3/30/2002 I AM FORCED TO CARRY A GLOCK. AT FIRST I WA GIVEN A 22, WHAT "TOY". IT DOES NOT FIT MY HAND. WHEN I SHOOT IT IT FEELS LIKE SHOOTING .357 FROM A WATER PISTOL. GLAD TO REPORT, I NOW HAVE A 23, BIG CHANGE, NICE GUN, FEELS GOOD TO SHOOT, WOULD SUGGEST THIS WEAPON TO A FRIEND, BUT NOT THE 22. Details..

-3/21/2002 I have had a model 23 for about two years now and love it it carries well for concealed with a fobus model g2. I just read an article that Glock has a new keyed locking system. Does anyone know if it can be retro-fitted to an existing model? And if so where and what would it cost? Details..

-Mar 16 2002 Hate to say it "justboughta23c" the "C" models by Glock are their biggest failures of all time. There will be wear on the ports, due to exposure of initial contact with muzzle blast. So much so that if you put enough rounds through it, it will eventually blend the two ports into one large one. And destroy the spacing in between. Also, the ports cut the barrel a little short regarding muzzle velocity. The shorter the barrel is, the less the compression is and the less the velocity, which will give you problems with feeding, unless you use full-house Cor*Bons (Ouch!). My advice is to get an additional barrel for your "23C", not the slide, just the barrel. Stainless, so you can shoot lead rounds if desired. For God's sake, don't shoot lead rounds with factory barrels (KB)! Later, FMJ Details..

-3/15/2002 The Glock 23 is in my opinion, one of the finest, most reliable firearms ever produced.
This was my 1st handgun, purchased about three years ago. Aside from paying dearly for two 13 round mags, I have not made any changes to the gun. I have fired over 1700 rounds through this gun. Many different brands, everything from bulk PMC's to Black Talons. Once my then gun shy girlfriend slipped in a 9mm round in the mag by mistake while target shooting one afternoon, and the 23 actually fired it accurately! I knew immediately something was wrong by the sound (or lack there of) and stopped shooting that particular gun. Took it home, disassembled it, & saw everything to be okay. This gun has never, I mean never misfired, jammed, or had any problems whatsoever. While Glocks may be a tad expensive, rest assured when in a life or death situation you can count on this gun firing when you pull the tr Details..
